A Voyage to Cythera is a new exhibition created by artist Aya Ben Ron and curated by Galit Eilat at the Berliner Medizinhistorisches Museum der Charité (BMM) in Spring, 2012.

The exhibition will employ several conceptual threads incorporating the diverse practice employed by Ben Ron ranging from sculpture, video, drawing, audio, text and installation. The thematic spectrum encompasses a thought provoking menu inviting contemplation in respect of specific locations, specimens and objects in the museum.

The BMM comprises a permanent collection of around 750 pathological anatomical specimens arranged in impressive didactic displays. The showcases contain jars with human organs carefully preserved and demonstrating clear signs of disease and injury, pathological alterations or trauma. There are three floors of temporary and permanent exhibitions; these include models, historical illustrations and photographs as well as specimens, offering insights into the history of medicine over the last four centuries.

Fragments from the exhibition will be exhibited in different locations during 2011 and 2012.
